Château Tayac 2007 Cru Bourgeois, Margaux

Château Tayac's 37 hectares of vineyards are located on some of the best gravelly soils on the hilltops of Soussans. The château has remained under the ownership of the same family for four generations. The wine is matured in 35% new French oak for 10-12 months.

Château Labégorce 2002 Margaux

A mature, medium-full bodied claret, with the classic Margaux hallmarks of dark crimson fruit overlayed with savoury, earthy flavours. Dry tannins are matched by taut acidity.

RM Nicholson 2009 Rustenberg, Stellenbosch

This wine was named in honour of one of the estate's former owners, Reg Merriman Nicholson, who lived and worked as winemaker at Rustenberg for 30 years, the wine has rich fruit flavours and bold tannins.

A blend of 50% Cabernet with 40% Malbec and 10% Petit Verdot. A dark and powerful Bordeaux-inspired blend, offering aromas of cassis, spice and mint. A rounded and juicy palate, full of forest fruits, with a long, toasty and spicy finish.

Ridge Estate Cabernet 2008 Santa Cruz Mountains

Opaque garnet colour. Layered cassis and blackberry, fennel, dark chocolate, limestone/mineral notes, toasty oak. Complex fruit, tannins, and oak are impressively balanced. Drinkable now, and over the next fifteen years.

Les Forts de Latour 2005 Pauillac

The 2005 Forts de Latour (10,000 cases produced) possesses much of the same character as Latour, but sweeter tannins, more obvious and forward fruit, medium to full body, and a more seductive, plusher style, but not the great stature, richness, and architectural precision of its bigger brother. 92 points. Sophia Craggy Range 2009 Gimblett Gravels Vineyard, Hawkes Bay

Black doris plum, blackcurrant, dried rosemary, cocoa dust and a hint of vanilla vie for attention. Brooding and ripe. The palate is layered with fine dusty tannins providing the structure for the ample flavour and length. Exceptional balance between fruit richness, tannic backbone and acidity is immaculate.
