A supremely easy-drinking, soft-tannined Merlot, with small amounts of Syrah and Carmenere added for a slightly meatier structure. Nose and palate are reminiscent of a big bowl of red fruits.

An inviting nose of plum, earth and eucalyptus leads into a palate of blackberry and raspberry, with a supple texture and a satisfying fruit sweetness. Pair with all manner of meat dishes and rich pasta sauces.

Bellingham Mocha Java Merlot 2010 Coastal Region

This wine owes its coffee-house name to the savoury coffee bean aromas that the winemakers have actively sought to bring out of the wine. Pronounced aromas of coffee, cocoa and black cherry characterise the intense nose.

Elegantly structured claret, with aromas of pencil lead and sandalwood, and a bramble backbone. A good level of ripeness, medium body, and tannins of a firm, taut character.
