Grape

Merlot

Origin
This wine owes its coffee-house name to the savoury coffee bean aromas that the winemakers have actively sought to bring out of the wine. The grapes are sourced from several parcels, many of which are of low-yielding bush vines, producing intensely flavoured fruit.
Taste
Pronounced aromas of coffee, cocoa and black cherry characterise the intense nose. Smooth and full-textured on the palate, with harmonious oak, and a long finish.
Enjoy
Will partner a range of barbecued meats, grilled lamb chops or meaty pasta sauces.

Does exactly what it says on the label !!

Great wine with that dark chocolate and black cherry taste, combined with the coffee aroma, its a real winner for me at a competitive price. I shall be recommending this wine to all.

    Beautiful

I couldn't agree less with Jonathan. I thought this was a beautifully smooth wine and the hint of coffee added a perfect richness to the wood which was not overbearing. For the price this is a great choice.

I totally disagree with the above reviewer, I think this wine is fantastic value. I loved the coffee, tobacco nose and thought it extemely well balanced.

    Disappointing

I am a contented Majestic customer principally because of the variety of authentic French regional wines available - something different from the characterless, mainly new-world, big-brand-name offerings of the supermarkets. I added a couple of bottles of this into my latest order because I was short of Merlot and the write-up was seductive. A mistake, I'm afraid. Too much oak, not enough subtlety. I know we all have different tastes, but I would honestly be surprised if anyone rates this highly. Sorry.
