"Bergerac is a wine-producing region formerly popular but now lost in the rush to internationalisation. However, the best wines remain as characterful reminders of times past and, like many ‘old fashioned’ wines, go brilliantly with the foods produced locally. Drink this with charcuterie or game to make both the food and wine sing – the slightly dusty tannins, dark fruit and pronounced acidity are spot on.
