With a classic 'left bank' nose of smoky blackberry fruit and pencil lead the palate is rich and rounded with assertive tannins, ample fruit and well integrated oak.

Château De Sales 2006 Pomerol

Offering excellent value, this soft-edged wine has plump plum and damson fruit on the palate, and a lightly violet and mineral scented nose. beginning to drink very well now.

Château Fonplegade 2007 St Emilion Grand Cru Classé

A dark ruby/purple hue is followed by notes of blueberries, raspberries, crushed rocks, and spring flowers, medium body, a soft, silky texture, lush, ripe fruit, and a heady finish.

Hacienda Monasterio Crianza 2007 Ribera del Duero

Made by winemaker Peter Sisseck,who is also responsible for Pingus, one of the region's most legendary wines. This is a blend of 80% Tinto Fino with 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot, grown on a superb south-facing vineyard, with the limestone and clay soils that suit these varieties.

Ridge Estate Cabernet 2008 Santa Cruz Mountains

Opaque garnet colour. Layered cassis and blackberry, fennel, dark chocolate, limestone/mineral notes, toasty oak. Complex fruit, tannins, and oak are impressively balanced. Drinkable now, and over the next fifteen years.

Les Pagodes de Cos 2001 St-Estèphe

The second wine of Cos d'Estournel, this is a clasically styled, soft and velvety St. Estephe blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. Now fully mature, it exhibits the rounded fruit and voluptuous tannin for which Cos is famed, with a slimmer, more approachable profile and very subtle spice.

Sophia Craggy Range 2009 Gimblett Gravels Vineyard, Hawkes Bay

Black doris plum, blackcurrant, dried rosemary, cocoa dust and a hint of vanilla vie for attention. Brooding and ripe. The palate is layered with fine dusty tannins providing the structure for the ample flavour and length. Exceptional balance between fruit richness, tannic backbone and acidity is immaculate.
