90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot. As far as we were concerned this was one of the stars of the vintage. The nose is classic Ducru - very expressive with violets, pencil lead and blackcurrant. On the palate there is a good density, ripe tannins and real poise. Alongside Las Cases this was the most successful Cabernet Sauvignon outside of the first growths, the result of a huge amount of work in the vineyard. Drink 2014-2024. 17.5 points (out of 20)

"Pretty dark, opulent crimson. Scented. Rather compact. Inky and savoury and there's a recognisable relationship with the grand vin in other vintages. Good! Appetising - I think that's the first time I have written that about the 07s. Quite interesting rather than super sweet. Fleshy. Good dust! Long and well balanced. 17- points (out of 20)."

"A solid wine, with plenty of rose petal, berry and currant character. Full and chewy. Ripe and very powerful. Wait and see, but impressive for the vintage. 89-92 points."
