Origin
Although a native Chilean, Viu Manent's Patricio Celedón, qualified in viticulture in Chile but has worked with some well-known wineries in the US and Australia, before becoming chief winemaker at Viu Manent in early 2010, bringing home his international expertise.
Taste
A lighter alternative to the typically dense, inky Chilean Merlots, this example is a little softer, with a touch more raspberry and blackberry to the fruit, and the merest hint of cocoa.
Enjoy
Drink with straightforward, meaty pasta dishes, or a lamb casserole.

    Replacement for Santa Rita 120 Merlot 2011 Rapel Valley

    This was delivered in place of the cheaper (on offer) Santa Rita 120 Merlot 2011 Rapel Valley and I was very pleased with their choice. Lighter and smoother than many Chilean Merlot I have experienced before. Very drinkable; will be ordering more before the offer finishes.

    2010 Excellent

    It comes down to price. For this price this is an immensely satisfying wine. Powerful but still subtle. Blackcurrants with hints of spice.Drink on its own or with a hearty beef casserole

    Reasonable but not an absolute cracker - sorry Fincastle84

    Smooth, mellow with no acidic aftertaste. Good everyday wine but I’ve tasted better and at lower prices. Notice the discount has disappeared as well. Consistently impressed with Chilean reds though.

    Absolute cracker

    Fruity with a dry after taste, this is a very gluggable merlot.
