Origin
The fruit for this wine was sourced from a range of sites across the Aconcagua Valley, where the Mediterranean climate and cold nights encourage good fruit purity. Only 50% of the wine has been aged in French oak for added complexity, while retaining fruit character.
Taste
Youthful in character with a bright crimson colour. A fruit-driven nose, with plenty of soft plum and bramble, and the merest hint of vanilla and spice from the oak, and the blend's 15% Carmenère.
Enjoy
Equally at home with pasta in simple tomato-based sauces, as it is with red meat, grilled chops or sausages.

    good value

    Bought this at £7.99, good value at this price. Not so sure about £9.99 though. Have had about 8 or 10 cases over the last year or so and found it consistently smooth, full bodied and flavoursome. Lots of dark fruit flavours - cherry, plum, blackberry. I have found it better if opened a good while before drinking, 12 - 24 hours sounds a lot but it is better on the 2nd and 3rd days than the first.

    An excellent Merlot.

    This wine has just the right amount of tannin and is lovely with a strong cheese (Shropshire Blue?) or with roast lamb. Perhaps if a few Grenach grapes had been added before fermentation this might have been a five star stunner. Value for money? Certauinly.
