Origin
Domaine La Chautarde is located near the city of Brignoles in Provence, and is a vast 245ha estate of pine and oak forests, olive groves, and vineyards covering 32ha. The soil type here is known as 'argilo-calcaire', which is a limestone-rich clay.
Taste
A light, dry and fruity rosé, with strawberry, red cherry flavours accompanying more subtle flavours of watermelon and nectarine. Soft acidity and delicate juiciness make for a refreshed palate.
Enjoy
Great on its own, or as a refreshing foil for 'pissaladière' (Provençale onion and anchovy tart).

    Okay but no better

We have been looking for a replacement Rose and were recommended this in our local branch, but unfortunately it did not really hit the spot for us. not frity enough and a litle too dry for a Rose.

    good example of provencal rose

My wife has become an expert on rose wine. Well she drinks enough. We also have a holiday home in the region. She says this is typical, crisp but with a good finish. Recommended

One of the best cote de provence rose at the offer price(£6.99) you will find, but there may not be any of this year's left. Palate, bouquet, and colour excellent

    lovely vin gris

not too much acidity and a touch off very dry - brought back happy memories languid lunches under plane trees many years ago. Highly recommended.

  • A chirpy, fruity, crowd-pleasing pink (2011 Vintage)

"A very distinct red apple character, both on the nose and on the palate. A chirpy, fruity, crowd-pleasing pink. Rating: 85/100 (The Wine Gang, www.thewinegang.com, August 2012)"
