In 2001 a dozen vignerons from the surrounding villages of Tuchan decided to collectively produce the finest Fitou they could.

This stunning Syrah-Grenache blend balances spicy morello cherry fruit and an elegant structure - could easily be mistaken for Châteauneuf-du-Pâpe.
"Despite being arguably the top producer in the Rhône, Michel Chapoutier still retains an interest in more modestly priced wines. At a recent selection tasting this leapt of the bench and demanded to be listed. The Syrah character adds a real depth and purity to the blend, although it’s not overpowering. For some, Syrah’s characteristic floral perfume is too much (although I love it) so a bit of balance probably helps give it a broader appeal. Interestingly, the wine is also organic - another Chapoutier crusade - although the earthy rusticity that this sometimes leads to is (thankfully) missing."

This exciting blend of Syrah, Grenache and Carignan is deep purple black in colour, with a pronounced spicy, herby nose characteristic of the 'garrigue' and ripe berries.
