Grape

Gewürztraminer

Origin
Yali's Peralillo estate in Colchagua valley provides the grapes for this New World take on a classic European style. Night-harvested, the cool grapes are pressed without air contact and fermented at cold temperatures, to maximise primary fruit character.
Taste
Intensely floral on the nose, with a medley of roses, jasmine and lemon blossom accenting the tropical lychee fruit aromas. Medium-bodied palate, with a nice balance of texture and acidity.
Enjoy
Drink with lightly spicy satay, grilled tiger prawns or oriental noodle salad.

An absolute stunner. Gorgeously floral nose, buckets of tropical fruit, a touch of clean acidity. Intensely floral. Highly recommended.

Not quite a Traminer... which makes it so intriguing and versatile

Gewürztraminer is a wonderful but difficult variety. This is, as other reviewers say, a lighter version, with the unique aroma of the Traminer (like lake autumn grapes), with a decent depth and finish that stands up to lighter food (eg. lovely with grilled fish & greek salad, standing up nicely to raw onion and pungent olives). A very substantial alternative to the usual Sauv Blanc for dinner - just don't expect a tradtional Traminer.

    Disappointing

Not nearly enough taste of flints - if any - which to me make a good gewurtztraminer. Will not buy again.

    Good but not as expected...

To me, much less of a gewurztraminer more of a sauvignon blanc . Not much on my opinion of the classic Alsace characteristics for the grape but fresh and fruity. Quite pleasant...
