Grape

Gewürztraminer

Origin
Produced by New Zealand's most awarded winery, from fruit sourced in Marlborough, Gisborne and the Hawkes Bay. New Zealand Gewürtraminer forms part of the triumvirate of aromatic varietals taking the wine world by storm.
Taste
The nose is brimming with classic aromas of lychees and spice, which follow through to the full bodied, fruity palate. Low acidity levels give the wine a rich and soft, almost off dry finish.
Enjoy
Drinking well now or over the next 2 years. This wine will not partner chilli spices, but with aromatically spiced Asian dishes.

    very well balanced wine

This Gewurztraminer matched my home cooked Vietnamese chicken curry with lemon quinoa perfectly. The flavours developed with every mouthful. A very fragrant and floral wine which accompanies light spicy foods with style. I will be sharing this wine with friends over a homecooked curry again.

If you like this grape, I'm sure you like this wine.

It's not a No1 dry. Definitely not. Off-dry with plenty of fruit for the nose & tongue - as you'd want from this grape. All the family got along with this wine.

    As good as in Kiwi

1st tried this in New Zealand and were blown away by how good it was so when we saw Majestic selling it for less than we paid in Kiwi we just had to have a case. Not disappointed,it is superb on a warm summer day with a good Thai meal, fabulous.

    Excellent Gewurz

Crisp, Dry and Fruity and well worth the money asked for this Villa Maria example.

    Excellent wine for the price

As with all of Villa Maria's white wines, this is just very good quality for the prince of 8 pounds. Crisp, dry and highly enjoyable in the sunshine!

  • A fruity, off-dry cocktail (2011 Vintage)

"Melon, lychee and grapefruit make up a fruity, off-dry cocktail here, and there’s a hint of rose petal on the aroma. Drink it icy cold. (Susy Atkins, The Telegraph, 19th August 2012)"
