Gewürztraminer, Muscat or Moscatel

Origin
Typically innovative and different, this is an intriguing blend from fourth-generation grower Miguel Torres. Founded in 1870, Torres have a rich history of innovation. Although mainly Moscatel, Viña Esmeralda is dominated by the fragrance and spice of the Gewürztraminer.
Taste
Aromas of honeysuckle, ripe pear and custard apple intermingle with sweet vanilla spice. Fresh and lively on the palate with an aromatic richness that finishes with nuances of cinnamon and cloves.
Enjoy
Sublime served with seafood, fish and especially paté, this is also a great apéritif.

    excellent torrontes

    lush chilled dessertish wine. mmmm liquid pear drops.

    Disappointing

    Having read the other reviews I was looking forward to tasting this wine. What a disappointment! If you like liquid pear drops this might be for you but if your taste is for the delights of Sauvignon Blanc you'll be very disappointed.

    Unusual white

    A subtly different tast. Though NZ sauvignons are our favourite we find that this makes a refreshing change. Brilliant to drink alone (or even with a friend).

    What a find!

    I am not a wine buff. I appreciate a good wine, know what I like and this one is almost exceptional. The grape combination intrigued me but the tasting proved that Torres knew what they were doing. I like gewurtztraminer and some other spicey, fruity wines. This is extemely good value for money.

    Go and buy some if you like Gewürztraminer

    At £7 in the UK at current price levels a treat for Gewürztraminer lovers. Got 12 bottles, will not buy any more and will drink once in a while so I would not get fed up with it.
