The late Jean-Ernest Descombes was a well known vigneron and proponent of Morgon's wines. Since his death in 1993, his daughter Nicole has continued to run his estate, now a sub-domaine of the great Duboeuf powerhouse.
Taste
Bearing all the hallmarks of this esteemed cru: aromas of blackcurrant, rose and violets, and a palate delivering a lush cascade of soft red cherry fruit framed by supple tannins.

An age-worthy Beaujolais to enjoy now or over the next 3-4 years.

    Outstanding Top Quality Morgon

    This Georges Duboeuf Morgon 2010 is a serious top quality Beaujolais from arguably its most serious cru. Morgon is characterised by a deeper character and a very rich palate. It was generally recognized that 2009 was glorious, but most certainly this 2010 vintage is not overshadowed. I believe that 2010 yields were relatively low and perhaps consequently this wine is concentrated, has great richness, deliciously ripe fruit and acidity, with well balanced tannin. Packed full of the succulent gamay. A very fine Morgon that will certainly age.  A really big mistake to miss it.
