Origin
Beaujolais-Villages must come from the superior vineyard sites in the hillier parts to the north of Beaujolais. Master winemaker Georges Duboeuf has created this wine from the best selection of grapes.
Taste
Packed with juicy strawberry, raspberry and cherry fruit flavours. A bright and youthful wine with a fresh finish.
Enjoy
Try lightly chilled on its own, otherwise a tuna steak will partner this wine nicely.

    Outstanding

At the offer price this represents the best value bottle on here. Fragrant on the nose, full in the mouth and an elegant finish - not something that you would typically expect for less than six pounds. Light enough to be enjoyed on its own or with virtually any food - including curries - ithis versatile little number will also leave you with a relatively clear head in the morning. Highly recommended

    Pleasing subtle wine

This is a very pleasant beaujolais, easily drinkable, fruity and light. Not as much oompf as the Brouilly and Morgon but still silky smooth and good light meals, white meat and fish (if you prefer red) - don't partner with spicy food.

    Beaujolais Villages 2011

A great year. Light, appetising and refreshing and yet full of fruit flavour that lasts. Also at 12.5% vol it does not leave you feeling as if you have hit round the head by the bottle. A very elegant glassful!

    Very pleasant

Tasty little wine. Dry on the way in but warm & fruity on the way down. Good value at offer price.

Staff Reviews

  • Power is not everything in wine...

"Aromas of juicy red fruits, red cherries, strawberries along with hints of liqueur cherries, brambles and spice. Soft trannins, the fruit is almost sweet, with the juicy red berries coming to the fore. Never going to be a block-buster, but a well made, well balanced and fruity wine that can be enjoyed on its own."

  • "Juicy black cherry and raspberry fruit combine with a hint of kirsch in this quintessential Beaujolais. A perfect summer wine."

Press Reviews

  • "A young, juicy beaujolais is the ideal gulpable red for charcuterie and cheeses. Made from gamay, this oozes with ripe, crunchy, red-fruit flavours – and what the French call bonbons anglais, too. Quaffed cool on hot days and at room temperature on cold ones, this delicious, soft, velvety beaujolais is a snip at this price."
