Grape

Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara

Origin
Naiano is located in the hills close to the small town of Bardolino, on the eastern shore of Lake Garda. The vineyards here have a south-southwesterly aspect, giving the grapes excellent sun exposure, and the 200m altitude and cool temperatures ensure lengthy ripening.
Taste
Straightforward and unmistakably Italian, this Bardolino is bright ruby red, with a freshness of fruit and a slender frame. Lingering flavours of cherry and bitter almond add a dash of complexity.
Enjoy
Any simple Mediterranean cuisine will partner well with this wine, especially a lively Primavera style pasta, or dressed olives.

    Wrony

Light, fruity easy drinking wine with or without food but for me goes best with any meat filled pasta and tomato sauce dish

Not what I call a typical Bardolino but still enjoyable

I have previously visited lake Garda and the Bardolino winemaking region and indulged in several Bardolino wines which I found all very light in colour and texture however this particular wine was a far darker and more inky colour typical to that of a montepulciano d'abruzzo. I thought the flavour was like a cross between a young claret and a fruity nero'davola (!) - it has loads of flavour, a balanced acidity and a gentle sweetness that makes it very easy to drink either on its own or as an accompaniment to food. Overall I am pleased with this wine and would totally agree with the label description of 'cherryish' fruit. I found it equally good at room temperature or chilled, it just depends what mood you are in.

A lovely soft, rounded and fruity Italian wine - superb value. We buy it all the time when it is available.

    Very very good Bardolino indeed.

We holiday in the Italkian lakes most years and this Bardolino would be hard to beat in the real place. Fresh, light and fruity it really is a pleasure to drink. And at this price it is a rare treat.

    Fruity and light

I am by no means an expert on this wine but had it Venice and it brings back good memories. Very smooth and fruity and easy on the palate. Great for the price.

An elegant red with flavours of soft red cherries. Simple but gorgeous.

This Bardolino is a perfect alternative to its more expensive elder sister: Valpolicella: light, soft and gorgeously fruity. Appearance: nice medium ruby colour Nose: soft red cherries and hint of almonds Palate: very fruity with flavours of fresh red cherries; soft texture; medium acidity; light body; velvety finish with low tannins. Conclusion: a light but incredibly elegant red wine! Dangerously easy to drink. Especially @ £5.99!! Have it slightly chilled (20mins in the fridge) with light tomato pasta or rocket salad and Parma ham. More reviews of Majestic wines and others on www.tippletips.blogspot.com
