Grape

Chenin Blanc

Origin
Made from grapes grown on the granite and schist of the Western Loire. Chenin Blanc is probably the worlds most versatile grape varieties and comes in many different styles in the Loire region.
Taste
A freshly fruity and slightly off-dry white, bottled with a natural spritz to maintain freshness. Plenty of white flower and peach characters contribute to the balance of this wine.
Enjoy
Pleasant, summery white, delicious served with grilled trout and salmon.

    A great Anjou Chenin Blanc

An excellent expression of this areas Chenin Blanc. Clean and crisp with just enough sweetnes. Full of fruit. If you like Chenin Blanc you will love this.

    La Grille - chenon blanc

Pleasant - but buyers should note the words on the label "off dry". Perhaps more a 2 than a 1.

    Crisp and Fruity

A delicious "quaffing" wine at a reasonable price. Great to drink throughout a long summer evening...and we do !

    Specious

Dictionary def: 'flashy and apparently plausible'. Seems to press all the right buttons initially; good balance of sweetness and tartness. But after the first glass, the excess sugar ('off-dry') palls, your taste-buds have been killed-off by the acid, so what on earth can you eat with it? Prefer the dry eg South African Chenins ('tropical fruits'), at less cost.

    Not quite what I expected

This wine is more like a 3. It has the same overtones that you would expect from a supermarket semilion.

    Good summer drinking

A pleasing warm weather white with hints of exotic fruit and almonds. Reminiscent of Vouvray demi-sec. Have already ordered a couple more to drink before the nights draw in.
