Crisp and elegant, this wine is awash with apple, pear and citrus characters on nose and palate. Firm acidity and a mineral streak, reminiscent of the limestone soil of the Maconnais.

Ataraxia Chardonnay 2009 Hemel-En-Aarde

"The nose is beautifully defined with scents of melon, honeysuckle and white peach with just a hint of creme patissiere. The palate is fresh and crisp on the entry with subtle almond and hazelnut. It has wonderfully integrated vanilla-tinged oak and a tense, mineral-rich finish that is Corton-Charlemagne in all but name and price. This is one of South Africa’s benchmark Chardonnays. Meursault Château de Blagny 1er Cru 2009 Louis Latour

A wonderful wine, traditionally vinified and matured in small oak barrels for 8 to 12 months. A light golden colour with green reflections this wine is full of elegant buttery notes balanced with an aroma of fresh hazelnuts.

Ten Minutes By Tractor Estate Chardonnay 2009 Mornington Peninsula

The nose shows complex caramel and butter notes, not rich so much as deep. Layered on top are fruit aromas of white stonefruit and honeydew melon, themselves topped by a range of funky, savoury notes. It’s a luxurious wine for sure, one that delivers its caramel and stonefruit flavours on a bed of satin sheets and down pillows.
