Ridge Estate Cabernet 2008 Santa Cruz Mountains

Opaque garnet colour. Layered cassis and blackberry, fennel, dark chocolate, limestone/mineral notes, toasty oak. Complex fruit, tannins, and oak are impressively balanced. Drinkable now, and over the next fifteen years.

Château Palmer 2003 3ème Cru Classé, Margaux

Warm cassis, mocha, vanillin and cinnamon aromas predominate with a pinch of anise and some dried plum. The palate reveals this as a very big, dense, weighty Palmer, with less elegance / femininity and more fruit and alcohol punch.

Filosur Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 Andeluna Cellars, Tupungato

The Andeluna winery sits right in the midst of the estate's vineyards, around 70 hectares in total, located at an average of 1300m above sea level. Plentiful sun exposure and wide day/night temperature variations produce wines of great ripeness and flavour intensity.

Les Forts de Latour 2005 Pauillac

The 2005 Forts de Latour (10,000 cases produced) possesses much of the same character as Latour, but sweeter tannins, more obvious and forward fruit, medium to full body, and a more seductive, plusher style, but not the great stature, richness, and architectural precision of its bigger brother. 92 points. An intense nose of raspberry and red pepper is underlined with cocoa and tobacco aromas. Full bodied with smooth tannins, ripe cherry flavours complement spicy vanilla notes on the long and fruity finish.
