Grape

Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc

Origin
This 15-hectare estate enjoys a location in the environs of Pomerol, just to the north. Producing around 80% Merlot, with full de-stemming before fermentation, the blend is very much in the soft and plummy tradition of Bordeaux's Right Bank wines.
Taste
Deep crimson in colour, with a gently smoky bouquet. Good fruit concentration on the palate, with the region's characteristic soft texture and openness.
Enjoy
Drink with a t-bone steak or fillet of veal.

Body

Red Wine with of a Body of C

    Well, I like it

Dec 2012. Definitely opens up on decanting (or at least swirl around the glass a bit! ) Perhaps the wine snobs are used to £18 bottles or perhaps Pomerol itself, however I found this to be really good. Medium weight, lovely aromas, superb with lighter cheeses. Very enjoyable.

Good everyday drink but just maybe didn't quite suit my palate A bit harsh for me so maybe a little young at the moment. e.g Not as good drinking now as Chateau Meaume.(but one years difference)

"Very pale and rather tart, a touch of herbaceousness – this is certainly not the most generous Lalande-de-Pomerol we have ever tried. There is an attractive savoury edge to the red fruit, but, with its very dry tannins, this is one for strictly old-school claret lovers. Rating: 80/100 Goes with: Charcuterie and cold meats."
