65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 7% Petit Verdot. One of the real successes on the left bank this was one of the stars of the most consistent left bank commune of St-Julien. The nose is complex and sexy without being showy and on the palate there is a real core of black cherry fruit with damson, spice and toasty new oak. It is a better wine than the 1999 and up there with 2004, and should drink well between 2014-2020. 16.3 points (out of 20)

"Pretty high volatility. Light, slightly powdery nose. Light fruit and a bit chewy and astringent on the finish. Sweetness on the front palate - far from classic dry claret! Slightly pinched finish but quite elegant - the right approach for the vintage. 16 points (out of 20)."

"A medium-bodied red, with good berry and mineral character, fine tannins and a medium finish. A little lean. 86-89 points."
