Aside from the accomplishment of being one half of the parent to Cabernet Sauvignon, (the other half being Sauvignon Blanc), Cabernet Franc plays a key role in Bordeaux, contributing to the finest blends of the Médoc. Cabernet Franc is also found the South of France, and the Saumur and Touraine regions of the Loire Valley, producing fruity, herbaceous wines.
