Château d'Arche 2001 Sauternes

Made in a big, up-front, forward style, with loads of glycerin and fat, the 2001 d’Arche reveals elegant aromas of honeysuckle, orange marmalade, honeyed lemon, and a hint of coconut as well as good acidity, medium to full body and obvious botrytis. 90 points. Vin de Constance 2005 Klein Constantia, Constantia 50cl Bottle

Richly viscous in the glass, with a burnt orange-gold hue, this wine exhibits youthfully fresh, floral muscat aromas, and exotically spicy confectionary flavours on the unctuously textured palate.

Pouilly-Fuissé Vallon d'Or 2010 Labouré-Roi

The high limestone content of the soils of Pouilly-Fuissé suits Chardonnay to perfection, creating wines with a crisp acidity and hint of minerality. This example is dry, fruity and a touch floral, with hints of honey and hazelnut on the nose.

Aromas of pears mingle with the rounder flavours of buttered toast and vanilla on the rich, fat palate. The finish is superb.
