Grape

Sauvignon Blanc

Origin
In the warm and dry climate in the Robertson Valley lies this winery with the same name. It is further inland than most vineyards in South Africa, but the Breede River, running through it, provides a cooling influence for this classic Sauvignon Blanc.
Taste
With a fresh aromatic nose, this is a crisp, dry wine with plenty of zesty gooseberry and green apple flavours.
Enjoy
Superb with seafood and creamy pasta dishes.

    Good value Sauvignon

With the current 20% discount, this is excellent value and a lot cheaper than the New Zealand equivalents. For this price, this is a bargain & a good wine.

On a par with many Kiwis

Good to find Sauvignon Bancs that can rival a number of Kiwi wines I have tasted. This fits the bill, and is good value. Not too sharp, but with a bit of zest. Good both on its own and with fish.

A decent everyday sauvignon blanc with more grassy notes than a lot of others at this price (bought when on offer ). Perfectly acceptable for a summer party or mid-week gluck but maybe not what you'd choose for a dinner party. Having said this I would be looking around a bit more if it wasn't on offer.

2011 vintage - Good value, but nothing special

I'm not sure what I should expect at this price (£5.49) No real depth of flavour or aftertaste, but quite fresh and grassy, a bit like Touraine, but cheaper ( agree with Mouse on that ) It does need a good chill before drinking - the second glass had a bit more kick after 30 more mins in the fridge....

    More like a Touraine

If you are looking for a Sauv Bl which is sublter that some of the Kiwi jump-out-of-the-glass-and-slap-you -round-the-face offerings then this is a lovely drop; good value at £5

    Alternative to Kiwi Sauvs

Quite a nice wine with a more robust flavour than the Kiwi sauv blancs, offers a nice alternative if not totally outstanding but good for the money.
