    "Xavier Borie of Grand Puy Lacoste and Ducru Beaucaillou fame has managed to capture the essence of 2000 in this wine. There is an abundance of ripe raspberries and blackcurrant fruit, intermingled with cigar box aromas. The palate is rich, plump and very sexy, with soft juicy tannins holding it altogether. The wine finishes long and very silky. It is in its prime right now, but will drink at its best for the next 3 - 4 years."

    "As I pour the wine into the glass, I am taken back by its deep garnet colour. The bouquet is absolutely sensational - leafy blackcurrant, mint, licorice, charcoal, cassis, and vanilla. The palate boasts much more of the same, and it continues to build for a good 25 - 30 seconds on the finish. There is beautiful weight and concentration, and this is a classically styled Bordeaux."

    "This is one of the bargains of Bordeaux! An elegant nose of cherries, tobacco, cedar and nuances of cassis. In the mouth the wine is deliciously light and well structured. Cherries and red currants dominate, and there is a lovely kick of white pepper on the finish. The tannins are soft and velvety, and extremely well integrated. Buy it while you can!"

    "Ooh La La! This wine has a knockout nose of raspberries, espresso and asphalt. On the palate, the wine has even more to offer. Rich and full bodied, there is an abundance of raspberry and cherry fruit intermingled with the delicious flavours of espresso coffee. There are also nuances of licorice and tobacco on the very long and pleasurable finish. This is a fantastic Pomerol for the money. Ready to drink now, or stash it away for 4 - 5 years and treat yourself in a few years time."
