Origin
The name Welmoed roughly translates as 'full of courage', and probably originates from tales of courage surrounding former owner of the estate, Willem Adriaan van der Stel, governer of the Cape in the late 1600s.
Taste
Bone dry but with notes of ripe sweet gooseberries and lemongrass on the nose. The nicely balanced palate is full of citrus and passionfruit and crisp acidity.
Enjoy
Serve with a starter of asparagus, salads or creamy cheeses.
