Origin
Awarded Decanter International Trophy for Best Chardonnay Under £10.
Situated in the heart of the Mâconnaise, Cave de Lugny produces great value white Burgundy from its 1,450 hectares of vineyards and is the third largest producer in Burgundy, producing in excess of 6 million bottles per annum.

Pale lemon coloured, with citrus and apple notes, hint of blossom and faint traces of butter. Apple and citrus predominate on the palate along with a hint of pear, finishing on a lovely mineral streak.

always good from cave de lugny

much smoother than most sauvignon blancs, great value at the two bottle price,if you want to pay a little more for a superb macon try the Louis Latour macon lugny - very special.

Great value. Drinkable without food or with chicken

Buttery, but not too much. Acidic, but not too much. Everything is balanced in this great value wine

You can't go wrong with a Macon

That's what I'd always been taught - but sadly it isn't true anymore. There are many Macons out there which really give the wine a bad name. This isn't one of them. Good fruit and minerality with a dry finish. This is an excellent food wine - it partners chicken and fish dishes really well. However I would say it's a bit too dry to drink too much of it without food - it's not a big fat Chardonnay - thank goodness!
