This Médoc fifth growth produces consistently underrated wines from what is a great terroir. A masculine and traditional wine this great vintage is drinking beautifully with more than 10 years bottle age; a nose of bramble fruit, woodsmoke and cedary spice the palate has a rich and glossy texture with real integration of fruit, structure and wood. Mature parcels of this quality are becoming harder and harder to find in Bordeaux as worldwide demand continues to rise, it will drink well with roast meats over the next 4-6 years.

"Starting to age at the rim. Quite aromatic and leafy on the nose - pretty subtle. Certainly refreshing and appetising. A bit light and lean overall - though not expensive. If you want to know what happens to a middle class red Bordeaux with age, here’s a chance to get your hands on a single bottle without enormous outlay. Serve reasonably warm to flatter it with some chewy food. Neat finish. Drink 2008-13. 16 points."
