What is Majestic Wine?

Do you sell online only?
No. As we operate stores across the country we are delighted if you would like to shop in person of over the phone - see your local store details. When you place an online order (to all but the most outlying addresses) it is passed to your local store team who will contact you individually to arrange delivery and to discuss any questions or additional services you might need.
This way we can offer the best of both worlds: the convenience of e-commerce, and the unparalleled customer services offered locally.
What is the minimum purchase?
As of 12th June 2012 we have reduced our minimum purchase to 6 bottles in-store, online and by telephone. Orders over £40 are delivered free of charge, anywhere in mainland UK. Orders under £40 incur a delivery charge of £5. Deliveries must include wine, Champagne and/or spirits.
As well as our standard store we also have several additional services. Via our Gift Solutions store you can order from a range of 1-6 bottle gifts with no minimum purchase. These are especially designed to allow you to send gifts for business or personal gifts where a whole case of wine may be inappropriate.
Is there a delivery charge?
Orders over £40 are delivered free of charge, anywhere in mainland UK. Orders under £40 incur a delivery charge of £5. Deliveries must include wine, Champagne and/or spirits. Prices shown for Gift Solutions items are inclusive of delivery and packaging charges. Delivery surcharges and extended lead times apply to orders delivered to Northern Ireland, the Scottish Islands, Isle of Man and the Scilly Isles. Do you deliver beers, water and soft drinks?
Cases of beer or soft drinks can be included in your order, provided you are making our minimum 6-bottle wine/spirits purchase. If you wish to order beer or soft drinks without a case of wine, contact your local store. Unfortunately we are unable to deliver beers, soft drinks or other sundries to areas where it is necessary to deliver by Mail Order.
Do you deliver overseas?
No, only within the UK. Shipping alcohol across national borders is a specialist activity.
I've seen an item in your brochure, but can't find it on the website. Why not?
To optimise the number of products available online, we check the stock levels across our network of stores on a daily basis, adding and removing products from the list as their stock levels fluctuate. If a product featured in our printed material is not available online then it's probably because it is temporarily sold out of many of our stores.
However, even if we are not offering a specific product through the website, your local store may be able to source stock for you. The best thing is to contact your local store directly to check.
Do your stores stock other items which are not shown on your website?
Yes. Some items which we stock (such as one-off parcels, unusual bottle sizes and specialist beers) are in limited supply and only available in certain stores and are hence not listed on our website. Feel free to contact your local store with your specific questions.
There's a particular wine I'm looking to buy. Can you get it for me?
Unfortunately, we are unable to order small amounts of particular wines which we don't normally stock for one-off orders. However, our store staff are very knowledgeable, and will be very happy to help you choose an alternative wine from our range according to your chosen style and budget.
Do you stock vegetarian, vegan and organic wines?
Yes. Many of our wines are suitable for vegetarians or vegans (look for the green 'V' or 'Ve' symbol under each product description). The number of organic wines is steadily increasing too. You can also narrow your product search by using the refinements on the left hand side of the page.
How can I find out whether a wine is sealed with a screwcap or traditional cork?
When you've done a search for some products on our website, you can refine your search results according to closure type by using the links on the left hand side of the page. Very occasionally, a manufacturer may change their closure preferences mid-vintage. If you are ever unsure, our store staff will be able to let you know the exact closure type used on their current stock.
I've just completed my drinks order online. Can I amend or add to it?
Yes. As each order is compiled and delivered from your local store, the team there will be happy to amend your order as you wish. You will find their contact details in your order confirmation email, or on our store locator. Gift Solutions orders, or other orders delivered by courier may be subject to a fixed dispatch time, so please call as soon as possible if you need to make any changes.
Can I order gift packaging?
All of our stores supply a range of attractive cardboard gift packaging in 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 12-bottle sizes. Alternatively we can deliver specially packaged gifts, including wooden-boxed gift packs, through our online-only Gift Solutions service.
I'd like to hire glasses and ice bins for my party. Can I do this online?
To hire glasses and chiller bins as part of your online order, simply tick the boxes offering these services at the checkout stage. A message will be sent to your delivering store and then team there will contact you to make the necessary arrangements.
My order is a gift. Can I include a gift message?
Yes. Simply enter your message in the box provided in our online checkout, and your message will be delivered to your recipient along with their wine.
Can I arrange a specific date and time for my wine to be delivered?
When you complete your online order, the team at your delivering store will contact you (or your recipient) within 24 hours to arrange a convenient delivery slot. If you would like to check on available delivery times in your area, please contact your local store. If you have specific requirements please tell us in the Additonal Information field during the checkout process on the website.
What about for Gift Solutions and Mail Order deliveries?
Gift Solutions items are delivered Monday-Friday during office hours using an express courier service. Hence, you can choose from the available delivery dates shown at the online checkout for these orders. Mail Order delivery lead times may vary according to your location. Yes. Not only can we help you organise everything on the drinks side for your wedding day, we can also help you set up a wedding gift list so that you can build up a great collection of wine. For full details see our wedding gift list page.
I've received a faulty bottle of wine. What should I do?
Please return the affected bottle to your local Majestic store. Our staff there will be happy to refund you or offer you a replacement. Our store staff will also record the nature of the fault, helping us to assist our suppliers in their quality control.
