Managers' Articles

Our most valuable resource at Majestic is our staff. For starters, they're the best trained in the business. They have an in-depth appreciation of wine and undertake professional wine exams, awarded by the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) - this year, an impressive seven of our managers picked up scholarships at the WSET awards (pictured above).

As part of the continuing programme of education our staff regularly attend tastings and travel to wine regions around the world. We thought we'd take the opportunity to share some of their experiences by asking them to contribute articles on a topic of interest to them. This is a great way to keep up to day with what's hot and exciting in the world of wine, and Majestic's range!

Château Guiot Vendange 2007

My visit to Château Guiot really brought home to me that winemaking is not an exact science learnt out of a textbook. There is no substitute for practical, hands-on experience and I greatly relished the chance to experience it in action... Read the full article

Andre van Rensburg, the Champion of Biodiversity in South Africa

The first time I met Vergelegen's Andre van Rensburg was at the Paul Roos Gymnasium, the site of the 2006 Stellenbosch Wine Festival.
