For starters, they're the best trained in the business, we recruit motivated people, primarily at graduate level, who have an interest in learning about wine. All our retail staff take the Wine and Spirit Education Trust’s (WSET) Advanced Certificate after about six months in the Company. This academic year, 8 of our WSET Advanced students are in the top 30 nationwide for all of the WSET Advanced candidates and will compete in a Scholarship competition. We encourage our staff to further their wine knowledge and 146 either hold or are studying for the WSET Diploma in 2009. 27 staff have passed their diploma this year. Particular merit goes to Lydia Harrison, the manager of our Kingson branch, who achieved a Distinction. Claire Dawson, one of our staff, has previously won the highest accolade within the Wine & Spirit Education Trust – the Vintner's Cup, awarded annually to the top graduate.

They're also helpful, coming from an environment in which high standards of customer service are the norm. From all our customer feedback and research, the quality of our staff and service are the thing rated most highly.
