Awards

At Majestic we pride ourselves on our great range of wines, knowledgeable staff and fantastic customer service and this year we have been recognised with three major awards in the two largest wine competitions, the International Wine Challenge and the Decanter Wine Awards.

International Wine Challenge

The International Wine Challenge is the worlds largest wine competition, where thousands of wines from all over the world are judged, as well as those selling them. We were delighted to be named as the High Street Merchant of the year for the second year running. We were awarded these on the strength of our "Competitive prices, excellent customer service, impressive range".

Decanter World Wine Awards

Sold in over 90 countries, Decanter Magazine is a world authority on wine, and they have named us Wine Chain of The Year 2009. Majestic was recognised "for the quality and breadth of its offering and highly trained staff" and particular mention was made of us buying "one-off parcels from flagship producers". Our website was noted with reference to recent additions such as our customer reviews, en primeur coverage and video content. We were also praised for our new in-store education programme: 'The Wine Course'. A particularly pleasing quote from wine writer Tom Cannavan was "The quality and range on offer at Majestic is still leading the pack of UK specialist wine chains. The fine wine selection is admirable, and the takeover of Lay & Wheeler should cement that".

Perhaps the most pleasing award was voted for by Decanter readers however. We were named the Decanter Readers' Awards Best Large Wine Merchant Winner for the second year running. Readers were won over by our excellent range and the expertise of our staff. One reader's comments stood out "What an extraordinary range of qualities this chain possesses: the widest and most far-reaching of both everyday and fine wines; and superlatively friendly and ever-helpful, courteous staff".Thank you!
